What we offer
Deer Path Riding Stable offers a relaxing and scenic ride through the Pocono forest. It's a great way to enjoy the beautiful Pocono outdoors. Our trails meander through fields and woods full of freshwater springs, mountain laurel, and rhododendron. Deer and wild turkey are often seen. Gentle horses, friendly, helpful guides and an "easy does it" pace make our ride suitable even for the first time rider. Our rides are geared towards people who are looking to spend some leisurely, pleasant time on a horse. We always go along at an easy walk and jog pace. The rides are scheduled for one hour, including the time allowed to get you settled on the horse and give you some basic instructions. Time out on the trail is usually about 45 minutes.

WE CAN'T HELP YOU!

What if I've never ridden a horse before?
No Problem! Teaching first-timers and beginners is our speciality. We'll instruct you on the basics of horseback riding. Our staff is friendly, patient, and very experienced in working with people who are "a little nervious" or "rusty" when it comes to riding horses. We're enthusiastic about horseback riding and want you to feel the same way.
What if I'm not a beginner rider?
Our trail ride is always an easy walk or jog pace. Some experienced riders do find it an enjoyable way to spend time on a horse and see some beautiful Pocono scenery and wildlife.
If you're looking to be a "Joe Rodeo" or a ride more on the "wild side" our stable is NOT for you!
How do I make arrangements to ride?
Reservations are always a good idea, especially on weekends and holidays. We are open for reservations anytime after 8:30 a.m., so you can book your horses or stop down to the stable and make them in person.
Are there any restrictions who can ride a horse?
Sorry, we cannot accommodate:
Other than these restrictions, most anyone who is athletic and has a little sense of adventure can ride a horse.
What do I wear?
-
We recommend long pants, even in the summer. This will protect your legs from pinching or rubbing on the saddle.
-
Please wear a shoe that ties on and preferably with a heel. Sneakers will do if thats all you have to wear.
-
Hiking boots with a course tread are not suitable.
-
In the winter, long johns are good to and definately a hat and gloves. It can get cold out there.
Note: The use of safety equipment may be required. (we provide at no charge)
